Bio
Pascal Kambale is Senior Advisor in the Violence Pillar at Ebuteli. Prior to Ebuteli, Pascal Kambale worked for the past six years as a senior advisor at the Africa regional office of the Open Society Foundations (OSF), based in Dakar, Senegal. At OSF, Pascal Kambale was initially responsible for the Africa Governance Monitoring and Advocacy Program (AfriMAP), which aims to monitor and promote African states' compliance with the requirements of good governance, democracy, human rights and the rule of law. He was then responsible for coordinating OSF's efforts to promote international criminal justice for mass crimes.
He specializes in international, humanitarian and constitutional law. He trained at Harvard Law School (USA) and the University of Kinshasa (DRC). A former member of the Permanent Commission for the Reform of Congolese Law (CPRDC), Pascal Kambale has been a member of the Kinshasa bar since 1989, and has extensive experience in human rights litigation.
He has practiced international criminal law in the DRC, Senegal and Chad.
